Our Vision
"GenNext is a program that encourages people in their twenties and thirties to become involved with United Way Sudbury through giving and volunteering."
Working with a Cabinet of volunteers, GenNext creates opportunities for people to support United Way Sudbury, its members and partner agencies, and to get involved in the community.
The GenNext Cabinet organizes fundraising events, promotes volunteer activities, encourages people to contribute to our city, and provides a forum for people to connect.
Get Involved
GenNext is a program of United Way/Centraide Sudbury. It is a team of young professionals in their twenties and thirties who are committed to making Sudbury a better place to live.
Led by a Cabinet of volunteers, GenNext is committed to raising awareness and supporting the work of United Way Sudbury and its partners by developing and participating in volunteer and fundraising events. GenNext strengthens our community by developing young leaders and involving, engaging, educating and connecting with each other in exceptional ways.
The GenNext Cabinet and associated ad hoc committees are also involved with meaningful volunteer and networking opportunities. Participants learn how their involvement makes a positive impact in the community, while receiving the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of peers and local professional leaders.
GenNext organizes a number of events and provides a variety of professional development training. These include:
Day of Caring - This event brings social service organizations together with community members to work on one-day projects that benefit the entire community.
Special Events - Last year’s major event was Lyrics & Laughs - an evening of music and comedy held at Little Montreal in Sudbury.
Professional Development - Training sessions include Financial Boot Camp, Volunteer Management, Event Planning, How to Meet & Greet Effectively, and more.
